The Nigerian naira weakened slightly against the U.S. dollar across official and parallel market windows on Wednesday, reflecting ongoing liquidity pressures in domestic currency exchanges.
Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria showed the official exchange rate settling at ₦1,348.80 per dollar. Commercial banks recorded buying rates at ₦1,348.80 while selling figures closed at ₦1,347.80.
In the parallel market across Lagos trading districts, informal operators priced the greenback higher. Street traders bought U.S. cash at ₦1,415 and offloaded to eager buyers at ₦1,400.
